Let me recap what happened:
On 28 Sep 2021, a wallet called “thegreats.eth” bought cryptopunk #8156, #2577 and #5201 for a total of 384 ETH.
The three Cryptopunks were then named after the Three Wise Men: Balthasar, Melichior and Caspar.
The Three Wise Men brought the news of the arrival of Jesus. The Savior of the World. The Salvator Mundi.
“The Greats” by Wolfgang Beltracchi was born.
The concept is simple: The world’s most prolific art forger, Wolfgang Beltracchi, recreated the most controversial painting in the world, the Salvator Mundi, allegedly by Leonardo da Vinci, in the exact style as several of history’s great masters.
